BOLLYWOOD DREAMS
An old "Enarc" arc lamp projector at the "New Shirin Talkies" cinema January 2002 in Mumbai, India. In the Fifties, India’s Nehruvian socialism banned most imports, so by the Eighties, India’s cameras and projectors were historical artifacts. Cinema-goers became accustomed to dim projection, poor focus and quavering sound. Things are now changing for the better.
